Montreal ’76, a pigeon play

Montreal ’76, a pigeon play
with Samuel Fiorillo,
Karla Franco and Sasha Radlov

Our pigeon play is a weird noir parade of detectives, nests, quests, and trusting your confusion, oats and evidence. It came out of a process of observing pigeons as citizens of the city, as communicators between everything that is romantic and everything gritty and smoggy. The pigeons are citizens of the city just as we are, and like many humans arrive in the city, making networks, nodes, maps of places around what is home, so does a pigeon of the city have a clear map of networks, nodes, and places around home. This story is our way to connect with our feathered cohabitants and open space for less anthropocentric ways of seeing our urban environment.
