Judith De Keyser

"I explore the boundaries of functionality and wearability, questioning where adornment ends and object begins."
I am Judith De Keyser, a jewellery designer based in Antwerp, Belgium. My practice moves within the space between jewellery, containers, and objects. I explore the boundaries of functionality and wearability, questioning where adornment ends and object begins.
Traditional techniques such as embroidery, braiding, and weaving are central to my work. I am drawn to their slowness and rhythm, a pace that allows me to think with my hands, letting meaning emerge through making. These techniques also carry a deep cultural history and a shared visual language. I seek to engage with that heritage not by rejecting it, but by questioning, reinterpreting, and transforming it through my own perspective.
My work becomes a dialogue between tradition and renewal, between the tactile memory of craft and the realities of a fast-changing world. I draw inspiration from my surroundings, people, and broader societal questions, finding in the repetitive and tactile act of making an ever-evolving source of reflection and creation.
