Max Van de Perre began his training as a printmaker, and his artistic process gradually led him to painting. Van de Perre realized that he didn't need to invent something new or spend a long period of research to evolve his work, but that by looking differently at his surroundings—at road markings, buildings, textile patterns—he could capture those forms and interpret their essence with paint on canvas.
